I’ve been exploring for a while the extent to which social media are storytelling media. Author Emily Liebert would likely say that stories can be found within social media.
As noted on the Facebook fan page dedicated to it, Liebert’s new book, Facebook Fairytales: Modern-Day Miracles to Inspire the Human Spirit
“is filled with captivating narratives of 25 real-life stories culled from interviews with Facebook users who’ve used the site’s many applications to find — for example — an organ donor, biological parents, to relay messages to loved ones during the Mumbai terrorist attacks, and to save a teenager’s life across an ocean.”
The book is also described as “a diverse collection of 25 of the most inspiring stories that have resulted from Facebook connections. These stories emphasize real-life characters’ personal struggles and triumphs.”
